Activist of the Week--Darling Jadey

One night with Jade aka "Jadey" and you'll be taken for a ride, quiet literally. I met Jadey late Friday night ready to see a much anticipated movie that totally tanked. Lacking sleep, I knocked out in the beginning, but in an effort to save my $11.50 from going to waste, I woke up in a haste after ten minutes and downed my cup of coffee. There was no point, after the first of many bullets was shot I was over it. I walked right into that, no more movies in 2010. I vow this today.

Since the act of watching movies leaves no room for interpersonal love, after the movie ended, Jadey and I were anxious to catch up. After talking about our walks for fifteen minutes, an employee came up to us and kicked us out and said they were closed. That's okay, we said. Denny's anyone? Before we knew it there we were bright lights, the smell of pancakes permeated the room and dozens of folks sat half naked and drunk having just left the club. After talking about God's greatness, our inability to obey, and our outright rejection of God's purpose for our lives, a man told Jadey as we were ready to pay "What's better grace or truth?" From that came "Grace is in Truth, and Truth is in Grace" I was not surprised that Jadey was caught up in another conversation. She's the type of person who will walk into a room alone and leave with scores of legitimate friends. As soon as your eyes meet hers she'll gift you the beautiful smile God blessed her with. With faith and love, Jadey is an example of what a great friend/sister looks like. She'll challenge you, she'll passionately tell you to be better, and encourage you to revel in God's love.

The best way she does this is with her actions. We left Denny's aroun 3 AM, I was even more tired and proceeded to drive in autopilot. As Jadey followed me home, halfway down Colorado Blvd, she abruptly stops and says she needs to go back. As is customary with me, I ask for no explanation and say "ok" I begin to follow her and she stops at a bench were a homeless man sat. God told her to bless him. I thought we were done as I'm about to drive off she pulls up next to me and says " I have to go back" I said "ok" and off she goes. I speed to catch up.

She stops at a second bus stop, this time a homeless woman is standing with a luggage and bags at a bus stop. "God told me to...." said Jadey" "God told me no,"said the woman. As Jadey insisted the woman refused. So Jadey drives off. As our positions now switch, I lead the way. As I drive down the road, it occurs to me that a)WOW, God is good b)Although she's two years my junior, .she should be leading the way. And with God's help she inevitably is. For her love for the Lord and others, Queen Jadey is my activist of the week.
