daughter the blemish on your skin is beautiful

daughter your skin is so beautiful how come you can't see?
daughter you cover your face with cake frosting, the kind that lightens your face.
daughter your color, though it may have blemishes, why do you hope to even it out?
daughter this cake frosting you put on your face gives cancer, do you care?
daughter i have a "blemish" just like you and i once tried to hide it, it was impossible.
daughter even if i had, the world would not see, but i would know,
daughter you know, the secrets on our face were not meant to die in tombs of frosting
daughter we must share our skin with the world, our naked skin, without the bitter frosting.
daughter free the freckles on your face, and the let the dark splotches breathe.
