cafe. mujer. espiritu

brown. women. spirit.
she sings when she walks home, she notices
the tumbleweeds, her sisters, they share the same shade
brown. women. spirit.
she is the color of cafe when the sun beats, honey
when she lives in the shady rainforest that makes her pastey
brown. women. spirit.
she is the color of milk tea with boba
how many shades of brown can she be?
the color of salvadoran mahogany
burnt dough with pupusas and curtido
she is the color of red mud, her mama the color of truffle
her unborn daugthers the color of milk-dark chocolate
